The Sileo Quartet
Friendship and fearless repertoire
Dawning performs regularly with the Sileo Quartet, winners of the Grand Prix at the Małopolska International Music Competition in 2023. The group studied under the Pacifica Quartet at Indiana University and has performed across the United States and abroad, recently touring in Poland with a program of 20th Century Polish composers, featuring Karl Szymanowski and Grazyna Bacewicz. Sileo now operates as a flexible collective, coming together for projects that spark curiosity and artistic inspiration. They are currently working on recording a never-before-recorded string quartet by composer Blair Fairchild.

This is one of the pieces, by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, that Sileo toured with in Warsaw, Poland in 2022. We were sponsored by the Chopin Institute, and were honored to perform at the Institute in Warsaw. We cherished the opportunity to experience Poland’s rich culture, delicious food, and beautiful scenes.
